  1. Welcome to HyperLog 2.18!  If you are a new user to HyperLog I hope you will
  2. take the time to read the manual all the way through at least once to become
  3. familiar with all the different functions available within the program.  If
  4. you have been using HyperLog and are familiar with it, you probably just want
  5. to look over the installation section as SETUP has new options for Packet and
  6. other functions, also look at the sections titled PACKET, Database Browser,
  7. and Report Browser.  Registered users of HyperLog versions prior to 2.0 should
  8. call us at 800-274-0890 to obtain their new serial number free of charge to
  9. unlock the new features.  See the manual for details on registration.  The
  10. manual is located in HYPERLOG.DOC.  To print it to your printer, issue the
  11. DOS command COPY HYPERLOG.DOC PRN.  It is about 50 pages or so.

  13. HyperLog 2.18 has BuckMaster CD-ROM support, ability to add alternate prefixes
  14. for existing countries, the ability to add a suffix to the registered callsign,
  15. and other new features that have been requested from users all over the world.
  16. If you suggested a feature and it isn't included in 2.18, wait a bit as there
  17. is more comming soon!

  21. None of the files from versions below 2.0 are compatible with version 2.18 so
  22. MAKE SURE you DO NOT extract the files from this version in the same directory
  23. where you have old version files.  The only file from a previous version that
  24. can be used is HYPERLOG.PBF.  It can be converted once the product is
  25. registered.

  29. Remember, if you are updating from a version prior to this one but still a
  30. version 2.x, AND you are extracting these new files OVER your old ones,
  31. once you finish the extraction, make sure you DELETE the file named
  32. PICKLIST.DAT to force HyperLog to rebuild it and other sort files to handle
  33. any changes to the new country file.

  37. If you are currently using version 2.0 or above, you can copy the 2.18 files
  38. over your old ones; however, please see the note below about the country and
  39. assign files.  If you are converting from 2.0, please make sure you delete
  40. your old CONFIG.REC file before running the new SETUP.  There have been
  41. numerous additions to SETUP in 2.18 and the old file is no longer compatible.
  42. You might want to run the old 2.0 version of SETUP and print out your old
  43. settings before you replace your files with version 2.18.

  45. If you have been using version 2.0 or above AND have added any new countries
  46. to your country database or modified any existing countries data, you might
  47. now want to use the 2.18 COUNTRY.PBF and ASSIGN.PBF files.  If you do, you will
  48. overwrite the country changes you have made and you will have to re-enter
  49. those changes.  If you want to take advantage of the new additions/corrections
  50. to the country files, you can overwrite you old ASSIGN & COUNTRY files and
  51. then re-enter your country data changes/additions.  If you do use the new
  52. Country & Assign files, and you overwrite your other files, you should then
  53. delete the file PICKLIST.DAT to force HyperLog to rebuild a new picklist from
  54. the new country files.
